In 2007, I gained admission to Odorgonno
I was young and a green horn
Then I was taken to S.H 4 which was all girls
But later came boys
It was such a blast
We had it all
Fat, slim, short, tall and dull
Lawrencia was the fattest girl in the school
Valencia the slimmest was very cool
Then was Josephine AKA Bola Bed
Who was very short
Richlove was the tallest
In fact we had it all
But who would I call dull?
All too soon, we parted ways
That was around September or May
Various programs we were given
For some, it felt like heaven
But to others it was a sad moment
More like a torment
Because they weren't given their choices
One of such persons was me
We protested with our voices
But they fell on deaf ears like a leaf from a tree
Finally, I was taken to the Arts department
And said goodbye to the Science department
In 2GA3, I met all kinds of characters
Godfred Anderson was the class prefect
We were 52 in number
A lot to make the drama perfect
Mr. Watenberg taught Government like a politician
Then was Mrs. Adjei Mensah who taught literature
On her arrival, students experienced a rise in temperature
Madam Josephine taught social studies with passion
She made us write essays without compassion
Economics was taught by Mr. Daniel Lamptey
A.K.A Nana Yaw
His language was as sharp as a saw
Nana yaw was a miser
But his attitude towards us was nicer
Not forgetting Madam Asantewaa who taught English
Always trying to speak like a British
She was a story teller
Telling us stories in addition to being a seller
She hardly came to class
But expected us to pass
Hmmm Madam Asantewaa
Madam Bevelyn taught French
She was a perfectionist
Who wanted us to speak like the French
Using different tactics,
People she claimed to be unproductive, she sacked or fired until she became tired
She was not in the good books of many students
Yet she was prudent
Amia Kwofie the choir master taught core mathematics
A lazy man he was but very dramatic
With the excuse of conducting the choir,
He absented himself from class
Our science teacher was not consistent
Assigning us to projects without assistance
Oh Sir Law!
Fortunately or unfortunately, Mr. watenberg left
He was the rock on which we cleft
But then came Ebo Practical who took over
We all were scared and took cover
Then he proved to be a loving and funny teacher
As well as a preacher
In 3GA3
We were seniors so automatically free
A new English master we had
We were both happy and sad
Happy because our lazy English Madam was made to teach another class
Sad because her stories we would miss much
Joe Appiah was his name
His teachings earned him a lot of fame
A disciplinarian
And a Presbyterian
In third year, some friendships became tighter
For others it was always a fight
One of whom was Christiana
Who fought with almost everybody in class
Even with the quiet one Augustina
It didn't matter whether she was wrong or right
Godfred tried to win Lawrencia's heart
Yet she wouldn't hear none of that
And remained as cold as a frozen meat
But when she finally gave in
He had lost interest
Yours truly sat next to five crazy friends
In actual fact, they were six
They loved following trends
Then there was a misunderstanding that couldn't be fixed
That was between Rosemond and Lizzy
It all happened in a frenzy
There was Augustina and Priscilla
Girls who would do anything for a Chrysler
Gifty and Christiana were quite cool
Christiana was quick tempered and Gifty broke rules
Godfred still remained class prefect
He wanted to resign
To all or rather to most, he was the perfect prefect
Then we began our registration
Getting prepared for another destination
All too soon we were in our fourth year
It was a mixture of feelings
Happiness, sadness and fear
But God provided the healing
I changed my sitting position
Beside Rosemond I sat
Literature Madam became my main opposition
To Akwete, Bismark and Ohene I became close
Like the face to the nose
Bad characters became worse
Good characters better or worse
People changed a lot
Physically or character wise they became hot
Seth skipped classes
Rosemond increased her 'walking hours'
Bad characters or 'causers' were hailed by the masses
There was a clash of power
Everybody 'came on top'
Respect was lacking
Teachers became fed up
Some used the method of sacking
We celebrated our 70th anniversary
In grand style
Mary Amankwah's dress was so fine
Invited guests were people of high rank and file
Students were on cloud nine
Photographers made billions
Photographs were taken in millions
Then we were introduced to a new headmaster
It was a news so hard to digest
We loved Mr. Ansah the former head
For us it was a news of sadness and sorrow
He was nicknamed 'Baje' or 'Chris Brown'
He had a hard time with the students and always wore a frown
This made him look like a clown
Like a flash everything was coming to an end
We wrote our final exams
People started thinking of how after school they could fend
Some lovers broke up
Others made up
For GA3 it all ended on 17th May 2011
Such a sad day
Hoping to meet in future,
We had a perfect picture
Like a flash of light
Everything became as dark as night
We were all at home
Feeling very gay.
